An event conducted by SabFree and Go Cycle together. A group of cyclists stated their journey from Poddar International School. We went ahead with the slogan “Spot it, Stop it”. A brief talk was also done by Ms. Sonal Kellogg for the children where they were introduced to Child Sexual Abuse and the work that SabFree does.

A consultation meet was arranged on 17th January 2019, where Ms.Sonal Kellogg gave an enlightening brief o Child Sexual Abuse, Sexual Violence and gender based violence. Around 20 to 25 people attended the event.

 

Women's march

• WOMEN MARCH FOR CHANGE – 4 APRIL 2019

Ms.Sonal Kellogg attended the Women’s March for change representing the presence of SabFree. She along with her colleague marched for “Reject the current Environment of Hate and Violence” and to “FREE SUDHA BHARADWAJ”.

By participating in the Women’s March for change, Ms. Kellogg is demonstrating SabFree Foundation’s dedication to promoting a more just and equitable society. Her presence at the march underscores the organization’s commitment to human rights and the rejection of hate and violence in all its forms.

Along with her colleague, Ms. Kellogg marched for two important causes – to reject the current environment of hate and violence, and to demand freedom for Sudha Bharadwaj. This demonstrates her advocacy for the oppressed and marginalized sections of society, as well as her commitment to promoting justice and equality.

• 2 DAY SEMINAR – IN SURAT

Ms.Sonal Kellogg attended a 2 day seminar in Surat for CSA and reduction of sexual violence against women and children. Her presence there represented SabFree and the work we aim to do though our organization.

A flash mob was conducted by SabFree in Ahmedabad One mall on 10th December 2019 to show our support towards survivors of rape and sexual abuse and increase awareness on Women’s safety in India. A group of 20 volunteers carried out the event in a smooth and effective manner.

A flash mob was conducted on 4th January on SG Highway by SabFree alongside Danspire volunteers. We demonstrated our anger towards Child Sexual Abuse and Violence against Women through the dance performed. A group of 10 young volunteers under the guidance of Ms.Sonal Kellogg made this event possible.

A talk was arranged by Ms.Sonal Kellogg on “Understanding Child Sexual Abuse” on 18h January 2020 along with psychologist Ms.Shukla. The talk was conducted at American Corner Reading Library.

• FIELD TRIP TO STUDY THE SITUATION OF VIOLENCE IN KHAMBAT VILLAGE –

A field trip was arranged by Ms.Sonal Kellogg to Khambat after the violence was ended on 1st March 2020. An inspection of the damage was done and contribution to betterment of people was made on this trip.

A stall was opened at a Food Festival on 7th and 8th March 2020, where Ms.Sonal Kellogg along with volunteers cooked delicious delicacies and put-up the stall. She represented SabFree and spread awareness on CSA at the food festival.

The photo captures Ms. Sonal Kellogg’s enthusiasm for spreading awareness about child sexual abuse (CSA) at the Food Festival. The stall set up by SabFree Foundation provided an excellent platform for Ms. Kellogg and her team of volunteers to engage with members of the public and educate them about CSA. Through the delicious delicacies they served  at the festival, the team was able to connect with people and raise awareness about this important issue.

• DRY FOOD KIT DISTRIBUTION

On 25th May 2020, SabFree conducted a dry food kit distribution event to help the underprivileged in the times of need. We distributed over 150 kits. The kit included basic dry ration like Flour, Oil, Rice, Pulses, Salt etc.

WEBINAR WITH GUJARAT POLICE

GUJARAT POLICE

From August 4 to August 20, 2020, a series of webinars were conducted, focusing on the Gujarat government’s Victim Compensation Scheme and various laws aimed at ensuring women’s safety and empowerment. These webinars provided participants with important and detailed information on the POSH Act, Domestic Violence Act, POCSO Act, 498A, J J Act, and recent amendments to these acts. The content was relevant and informative, highlighting the government’s commitment to ensuring justice and protection for women.

Recognizing the importance of addressing the mental and emotional well-being of police personnel, a section on Positive Life and Positive Health was also included in the webinar series. This section received a positive response from the participants, indicating the significance of prioritizing mental health support for law enforcement officials. Overall, the webinars were successful in disseminating crucial information and promoting the welfare of women and police personnel in Gujarat.

• WORKSHOP FOR ‘SWATI’ (FEMINISM AND BASICS OF ABUSE)

workshop was conducted by SabFree with the help of SWATI foundation on 26th October 2020. It was a virtual event. The training helped participants understand the politics of power, how it manifests, the different dimensions of power and gender, laws pertaining to it. It will also gave a clear picture of patriarchy, how it plays out in our society and how that restricts women. The relationship between patriarchy and violence against women and the struggles of women groups which has resulted in the existing laws.

A virtual Leadership Lecture was arranged at GIIS Ahmedabad on the topic “Awareness and Prevention of Child Abuse” for grades 3 to 5. This was arranged by Ms.Sonal Kellogg on 22nd June 2021 from 11.30 am to 12.30pm.

TALK ON HOW TO REDUCE VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

 A virtual talk was arranged by SabFree along with American Corner Library and Shaishav where Ms.Sonal Kellogg and Ms.Parul Sheth talked about “How to reduce violence against Women and Children”. The talk was arranged on 26th June 2021 from 9.00 to 10.00 pm. We also went live on facebook for the same.The photo depicts the virtual talk arranged by SabFree Foundation in collaboration with American Corner Library and Shaishav. 

The talk was an important platform for Ms. Sonal Kellogg and Ms. Parul Sheth to discuss effective strategies for reducing violence against women and children. The insightful and informative discussion provided participants with valuable insights into the causes of violence and ways to prevent it. The virtual format of the talk enabled a wider audience to participate and engage in the discussion, promoting a culture of awareness and accountability.The fact that the talk was also live-streamed on Facebook is indicative of SabFree Foundation’s commitment to utilizing innovative tools and platforms to spread awareness about important social issues. By leveraging social media, the foundation was able to reach an even larger audience and generate meaningful engagement with people from all walks of life. Overall, the virtual talk was a resounding success and a testament to SabFree Foundation’s continued efforts to empower and protect women and children.
